I am currently a cybersecurity professional who is thinking about transitioning to a more traditional software engineer role. I have a decent amount of experience in C/C , python, Golang and I produce professional code with comments, tests, version control,, etc.. but that has all been geared towards my specialization. For instance most of my dev experience has been writing malware professionally, particularly for Windows. I really enjoy that work but I haven't been able to find any jobs doing only development instead of development as a side project when I'm not doing my primary duties. Can anyone give any advice for what kind of software engineering positions I could look for? Most of the ones I've found so far are for web apps and I'm okay-ish at front end and back end web development but it isn't my strongest skill. Thanks in advance!
