GIS Major with a CS minor. Am I going to expand my career aspects?
Post Body

So I started going for a Geographic information Systems major in 2019 and I am about halfway done. I would love to work in maps but I notice they’re not in super high demand (or at least the developer ones are).

I added a CS minor because

  • Python is used heavily in GOS
  • Java is useful in general?
  • I don’t want to be stuck with one career

The question I have is what can I do with a CS minor that I might not know right now

Can I become a Java developer? The pay seems quite nice and there are many jobs
