Info sec background switching to software developer?
Post Body

So I took a couple coding classes in college and was in love. But I already had a network admin background from the national guard, and a TS/sci clearance so I got into info sec work, mostly GRC type stuff. I got a few certifications and I’m about to get my cissp, just trying to increase my salary. I don’t hate my job, in fact love what I do, but I’d really love if I can teach myself software development on the side and some how transition my career to a software developer type security role. I’m in CA already and still have my TS/sci clearance, and I have a pretty solid private sector info sec resume. Any way I can leverage all this to get into a cleared software developer/ security type role?

I know I’m all over the place with this lol sorry, just excited to learn coding now that my career is on auto pilot and I have time to study more on the side. I hear developers getting into security but never the other way around. Would I fit any niche market with a background like this?
