Should I stay for the tenure/stability or jump for the tech stack?

Post Body

Hey all, kinda in a tough decision right now and was hoping to get other opinions.

My experience is: WITCH for 1 yr 3 mo Current employer for 9 mo

While at both I was doing the same government contract work so I’ve been on my project for about 1 yr 2 mo

Current job: 70k LCOL Remote React/TS Ruby/rails (Anticipating a promotion to mid and minimum pay of 100k after year end review)

Offer: 105k LCOL Remote React/TS Java/Spring Boot

On the surface I feel like I should take the offer, I really want to switch my tech stack to something more popular the 50% pay increase but I worry if I’d come off as an unreliable hire in the future since I only spent 9 Mo with my employer? And because it’s contractual, I could jump to this new company and not stay for long if they lose the contract.

But I wonder if the Java experience would improve my hireability? Unless if anyone has advice on how I can reorganize my experience since I’ve technically been with my current employer for about 1 yr and 5 mo but as a sub contractor for part of that time, then I’d feel more confident about making the jump to the new offer

May not be a tough decision for some but I’m conflicted on being patient or jumping at this opportunity, any advice helps! Thanks!
