i got alot of really great info from my last post and I would really love some more! I have altered my interest list to some of the following:

Kawasaki 900 Custom
Honda Fury (with abs I hope)
Victory cruiser (from what I can tell it's the same bike with 4 styles) http://www.victorymotorcycles.com/en-us/cruisers

Safety and riders course aside ( all very important and already in the forefront ) I'd love to hear any and all opinions you guys may have on these bikes and similar options. Please feel free to refer to my last post as well. Thank you guys again for the help. Also Harley Davidson is offering the riders course to current and past vets for free until September. I'm sure it's most likely already out there but I just found out.
