Turning 43 in a few days. Had a couple 1980's fat decks from San Fransisco's store back in the 90's. Other than that I'm pretty novice. I was looking at getting a cruiser just for fun, bumming around point A to B. I like the looks of the Landyachtz Pocket Knife black cruiser, and the Dinghy Blunt. Not sure which would be best for a total old no0b to get a few concussions with. Another option is to get whatever's cheap on Marketplace and learn some basics and save up for something better in the future.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Edit:: went to a skate shop and tried out the Tugboat, Blunt and Pocketknife. I found it easiest to turn on the Pocketknife and liked the cushy grip on top so I went with that. Skated around downtown like a no0b-asaurus-rex then caught the train to the area I work in and skated around some more. Found a back alley with a bit of incline and curve and went back and forth for a bit like a kid on a toboggan. After work, in the area I live in I skated around the parking lot of a school practicing a bit of carving. My area is a little bit hilly, so the Pocketknife speeds up pretty quick and I start fishtailing. I totally biffffed it twice, but got back on. Gonna go take some asprin and a shower and try again tomorrow.
