CRT suddenly unplayable

I have an old Toshiba CRT from 2002 that I have been using to play ps2 games. Last night I was playing the hobbit and paused the game for about 20 minutes to cook dinner for my wife. When I returned the pause menu was very dark with a red tint. Tried to restart the tv and ps2 but the problem remained. I can’t even read anything on the main menu it is just blurry and red tinted even with the ps2 off and the DVD player/tv menu active. Any ideas what caused this problem? Any fixes?
