I need some advice.
Post Body

So recently, Ive had the urge to get back into playing my old retro consoles from my childhood, but I wanted to do it on an old school TV with the AV and component ports. I have an AV to HDMI adapter so I could have used that to play them on my massive, modern widescreen TV, but it just wouldnt be the same since it would habe stretched out the image and made it look like shit. So I started hunting for an old TV and the other day, I found this Sony TV at the Salvos for $60. It has AV, component AND HDMI and when I change the aspect ratio to 4:3 in the settings, the games look really nice. However because the TV has HDMI and is technically wide-screen, it has the black bars on the side. My question is, is it worth it for me to find an actual proper box CRT that is not wide-screen and is just a square for the image? I really would like one, but I also know how heavy they are and how much of a bitch they are to transport and also how much space they take up too. This Sony one I found is a decent size. It's not too big amd doesn't take up much space on my TV cabinet as you can see, meaning I can store my consoles on top of the cabinet, rather than in the cabinets underneath it. If I have a box CRT, it would take up the majority of the the top of the unit and the consoles would have to go into the cabinets. There's pros and cons to each. So what is your opinion and perspective?
