Grids for Kids - crossword puzzles for children
Post Body

Did you ever wish you could share your love of crosswords with your kids or your grandkids? I know I do! That's why I created Grids for Kids! Using Common Core vocabulary lists, I curated a scored word list used to create crossword puzzles for children at targeted reading levels. Clues are sourced from children's dictionaries and encyclopedias and children's media. Grids for Kids keep young brains engaged, with age-appropriate clues that help children learn crossword conventions while theyโ€™re having fun.

Two collections are available on Redstone Games' Crossword app now -- R. Stears Volume 119 for children reading up to a third grade level, and R. Stears Volume 121 for children reading up to grade six. The app is free, and the puzzles are free to play!

Here's a link to one of those puzzles, which I provided (along with some other puzzles) to the Word Play Cafe at Burning Man this year, suitable for children with a third grade reading level.

The Grids for Kids high school edition includes an extra puzzle. After solving the crossword, rearrange the circled letters to answer the riddle.

I downloaded the app for the iPad but can't find these volumes.
