So my mother, when I was younger, crocheted a LOT. She had these doilies around our home before we moved to America (I think they're in a box now, or with grandparents still in Europe), and she would never tell me how to make the doilies-
So I'm asking if it rings a bell with anyone, but I only have like, three points of information:
The looked and felt a bit waxy, my mother once mentioned you had to crochet it when the yarn was wet (I think), and she also mentioned it was harder to do than normal crochet due to a smaller needle.
If it helps, we're Greek, and I would see it all the time in various homes before we moved to America, but I can't find anything on Google.
ETA: They weren't always waxy, but the ones I remembered being really delicate and pretty were.
