I am new to this subreddit, but I've recently gotten back into crocheting, and my first project was a baby blanket in the round. The blanket is square, so first, I don't even know if I'm using the right terms. Basically I worked the square around and around. Where I joined each round, there is a bulge that makes the blanket oddly shaped. My goal was to try to back it, but to get my sides even, I have to stretch the corners, which then throws it all out of shape. I guess what I'm asking is: Should I just cut my losses and gift it as is, without the backing, or is there any way to make it work. Using a sewing machine to fix up the fabric isn't going to happen because I don't have one.
Update: I gave her the blanket, unbacked, after washing and blocking it. She liked it!!
