I refused to wash the dishes all weekend since my roommate never washes them and promised, before leaving from last Friday to Monday, that she'd wash them all before she went.

She didn't. I'm too slow to squish the fruit flies that are meandering around my Franzia. And I did a sinkfull and a half of dishes tonight, while she stood behind me gabbing about how great her weekend was.

Hopefully I remember to take the last two weeks' recycling out later this week. FYI, 30 odd empties, wine bottles and plastic alcohol containers can INDEED develop a slight odor.
