Making children's height chart with wall decals, need help

I am interested in making this for a friend with a new baby - a travel/world landmarks height chart. However, I've never made anything that big - does anyone have recommendations since it's a continuous design that will be pieced together with smaller sections? Or recommendations for which kind of vinyl would be the best? Thank you in advance for your crafting wisdom!
