I got some feedback on a previous post about pre washing blanks before starting a project. I searching through to see if anyone has made a recent discussion post on the topic and the best I could find was 6 month to a year ago.
I'm curious to hear yall's preferences and procedures. 1. Do you pre wash? 2. Do you think vinyl sticks better if you pre wash? 3. If you pre wash, what do you use detergent wise? ( Oxi clean, dreft, baby detergent, etc.) 4. I've heard/read not to use fabric softeners or scent beads. If you're pre washing in your home & you use product like those, does it ever effect your garments when you've done a pre wash? 5. If you don't pre wash, why not? 6. Do you ask your clients first if they'd like they're items pre washed? 7. If your general practice is to pre wash, do you tell your clients? 8. Tell me any parts about your procedures I didn't think to ask but you feel like is beneficial to your practice and others might find useful also!

I love your design here and the care card! π
I was thinking more in the way of a simple baby clothes detergent or oxi clean.
Do you wash your other laundry loads with softeners regularly tho? If so do you feel like the residual in your washer affects your pre wash items? Like would you do a wash load of towels first to help reduce any left over softeners in the washer & then wash your project items?
I've never heard of Dynamo but I found it on Amazon after a quick search. Do you feel like using baby laundry detergent like Dreft would work the same?
PS. These are Bella Canvas hoodies for my next project. I'm looking for pre-washing insights so I can decide how to proceed after a peeling incident on my last order of t-shirts!

I definitely have gotten in the habit of providing care instructions after my wife zapped a shirt in the wash! π₯²π I'm also in the habit of pre pressing to remove moisture and wrinkles as well as giving it a good lint roll. I have a 30 day guarantee on anything I sell so I just want to make sure I'm doing anything & everything I can to ensure quality and longevity of items.
