Okay, so this happened about a few hours ago. About 7 - 7:30 pm. Needed to get something for dinner so I went to the store about 10 minutes from my house. As it's winter it's pretty dark out.
Went into the store and was just browsing for a few minutes, trying to find something I wanted when a guy smashed into me. I'm sure it was an accident but the full force of this guy pretty much knocked me to the floor. I helped myself up with the help of another customer and the guy who slammed into me just stared at me. Pretty weird..... but I didn't want to make a scene. Just wanted to get food and go home. Found what I wanted, paid for my items and left.
Directly next to that store is a different one. I decided to go in to see if I wanted anything in there. About two minutes after I came in... the guy who slammed into me walked in too. Didn't think much about it, with the stores being so close people do it a lot - price comparing I guess.
I started to feel weird though, just thinking about how he minutes earlier knocked me over and didn't say a thing about it.
Again, I paid for my items and left.
Rather than go home though I decided to go back to the first store I went in. Just for some wine. They have a better range of alcohol in there so back I went.
And who comes through the door again, moments after me? It's the same guy. At this point I know something is off now and I'm not being silly about it.
(I've had a few weird and strange encounters over the years where I've been followed, that sometimes if I think something odd is happening I have to try and take a step back and ask myself if I'm being paranoid. This is not one of those times).
We make eye contact as he walks by me but rather than look away like I usually would, I didn't. I stared at him back - trying to show I wasn't afraid. Although part of me just wanted to bolt. Wine in hand and about to pay - I scanned to see if I could see him. Luckily I couldn't. I did not want to leave the same time as he did.
So I left. I live 10 minutes away so I'm pretty much power walking to get home fast. Constantly looking over my shoulder.... but I don't see him at all.
Until I do.
I'm not sure of what direction he came from but suddenly he was there. Not too close to me but not too far. I decided to take my phone out and call a friend. Making sure to be loud as I talk. Making sure to say "I'm almost home" several times in case he can hear. Then I lost him. I guess that must have worked.
