Do you write in chronological order or are you jumping around?
Post Body

I'm doing the former and I've been procrastinating over a chapter for a long long while now.

I come up with ideas and story beats for later chapters so I have a pretty good idea of where it's going but for some reason I don't know if I should give myself permission to just jump ahead and write out of order.

Sure, I might get more story done, but does it help the cohesiveness between the chapters if they are started, worked on and dropped independently?

I'm also not that great at revisiting since I like to do things purposfully and therefore slowly, so the idea of having to rework connective tissue between chapters isn't enticing tbh.

So, what do you lot think and how do you usually work?

Thx in advance.

PS: The chapter I'm struggling with is the central setup and basically the main idea for what I'm writing, so I both need to get this right and can't really drop it either.
