You know that feeling when youβre floating?
Your ears are fully submerged in the water, you can hear, but the sound is muffled β distant, unclear. The only distinct noise you can make out is the sound of your breath, filling your lungs with oxygen before exhaling every last ounce, as your chest sinks further into the water. Your airway is out, but with each exhale you feel more and more breathless, yet somehow still light as a feather. Almost wondering if you could stay in this tranquil state forever, only hearing the sound of your thoughts, filled with endless white background noise. Or whether that distance you feel from yourself and the world around you, somewhere in between lucid and dreaming, will start to consume you. And the only thing left you can do,
is sink.
