NAME: The Ru'vor Empire

FLAG/SYMBOL: (Iā€™m not good with photo editing) But the flag is a blue and copper colored mountain with two large green trees in front of it with a mud brown background

LOCATION: https://imgur.com/VbPUncV

The jungles of Moor Avor are unique in several ways. Firstly the pink algae that turns the rocks blue have a shorter growing season than in the High Dorompiriats territory, most believe it is due to the change in humidity and climate. Due to the high concentrations of copper the plant life has either a strange blue hue to it or the leaves and stems are cobalt blue. The high concentrations of metals in the flora make most of the plants here toxic and all but the Orrghats and Apies would die upon digesting the blue leaves, apples or bananas :) Because of the toxic nature of the plant life the local animals have had two distinct adaptations: The more common adaptation is a high resistance to toxins and poisons much like a mongoose has, several creatures have become stigmatized for having sloth like tendencies when in reality it is just a creature sleeping off their meal. The second adaptation is much rarer and far more deadly. Due to the dense foliage of the jungles several beasts have learned a chameleon ability that has become advanced enough for the local societies to perceive it as invisibility.

BIOLOGY/ETHNICITY:

There are two main sentient species in the Ru'Vor Empire the ape people, known as Apie and the humans The ape people are simply apes with more human features and intellect.(Think Planet of the Apes) So far no Apie has been born with magical capabilities, though they make up for this lack of ability with incredible dexterity and agility and over the centuries have built up quite a resistance to most poisons. Their weapons are mainly bows and spears and they use a lot of the toxins that their natural environment provides to down enemies quickly. The humans are primarily lithe in appearance with black hair and brown or green eyes though all variety of traits exist.

HISTORY:

The Ru'Vor Empire was created when humans came and began to colonize and tame the land. The humans made a pact with the Apie to not molest their way of living or the jungles to the best of their ability. Before that the ape people lived in smaller tribes in the tree canopies of the jungles, focusing on their families and the well being of the jungle around them. Eventually over time the humans, ironically, found themselves slowly adapting and adopting the ways of the Apie. Large to small towns exist almost entirely in the canopy of the trees. With the exception of small homes with large winding staircases wrapping around the massive tree trunks ascending to the town proper above.

Throughout the jungle large blue stone dome-like temples can be found though no one knows who made them or what their purpose are.

SOCIETY:

The society of Ru'vor is by and large still structured as a tribe like society, They have no use for personal wealth or standard monies of the world. Most cities have one bank, often the chief of that city, where they use their funds for dealing and trading with outsiders. Within the empire's borders everything is barter and trade. Despite the tribe-like mind set of the people of Ruā€™Vor they use a trail of contests to determine their leader, it is acceptable to be a couple and partake in the trail; that has happened only a handful of times in the history of the Ru'Vor Empire, however. Today a pair of elven twins with powerful magical abilities rule the Ruā€™vor Empire. They have convinced the people that they are one person that never sleeps and donā€™t get drained when using their magic.

CULTURE:

The Ruā€™vor people wear simple, loose cotton clothes though the outfits are designed to be light and breathable to combat the humid jungle life and usually nothing when in the privacy of their homes. Almost everyone wears a belt or bandoleer of thick rope and a large sharp hook or piton, often several, that are utilized for climbing. All the sentient people know that the higher you can get the safer youā€™ll be. The humans adopted the tree top housing and clothing of the Apie and the older, most productive members of society are looked at similarly to nobility. Many have either a flying mount of beautiful rainbow colors or else an invisible gecko/chameleon mount. They lean closer to vegetarians though they occasionally eat meat. When possible they avoid violence, the Ruā€™Vor people tend to use games as a way of settling disagreements.

OCCURRENCE OF MAGIC:

The few mages that exist within the borders of the Ruā€™Vor Empire are treated with respect and given a wide berth, because of their power and elevated status in society they are given more responsibility and though nothing is ever said and there are no institutes for mages they are assumed at birth by society to be both protectors of their tribe and city as well as caretakers for those that are unable to care for themselves. Usually there is only one mage per town though a larger one might have several with an elder more powerful mage teaching the younger bright generation of mages how to harness their powers. For the towns with one mage that mage is given a large home that houses any orphans in that tribe. The children the mage fosters act as servants, assistants and general helpers. The mage also houses any elderly that have no family to care for them. The duties for a mage are to care for the children, elderly and then the rest of the tribe. A mage usually spends his morning making sure their wards of Protection are still intact and functioning near the borders of their town. While near the outskirts they will also stop by any area that yields crops, making sure to bless the trees and smaller vegetation with any kind of growing or healing magic they may need. After those primary duties are taken care of they return to the town to help the towns folk as best they can. Though helping the townspeople isn't a daily chore, the mage still makes it a point to be courteous and social with as many people as possible. When they return home they focus their attention on the children with lessons of all kinds and make sure the old folks are doing well.

PORTAL:

The portals in Ruā€™vor are more of a cultural phenomenon with the only two known being in a massive nearly abandoned dome temple in the middle of the jungle one is located in the main chamber and the other a few floors beneath it. A group of Storm Titan worshipers live there and keep the temple under lock and key. Every hundred years when a green comet can be seen in the sky above they wait til the Storm titan is as close as possible to the temple. The cult of the Storm Titan will then invite the leader of the Ruā€™vor Empire to step through the portal to see if they are worthy, secretly they also have the leader of their cult step through the lower portal at the exact same time as the leader steps through the main one above.

MAJOR EXPORTS/IMPORTS:

The Ru'Vor Empire has more trees than grains of sand on its beaches, at least that's what the major loggers say when they sell their wood to the outside world. Being primarily a jungle nation, exporting wood and fruits is a business that is always booming. It's mining industry however struggles to match itā€™s prices with the outside world capabilities. Though they have the tools and labor to mine, getting the area to a workable place is difficult. The phrase ā€œFell a tree, two sproutsā€ is a common expression amongst the several small mining operations in Ruā€™Vor. The intense labor of clearing the land for mining makes the cost of mining and exporting more extravagant. Still the Ruā€™Vor Empire does itā€™s best to export copper, iron and clay. Less known to the world and heavily monitored and regulated the Ruā€™Vor people export small amounts of poison and exotic mounts and pets. Almost every exotic animal that leaves the borders of the empire is neutered to ensure that they are never circumvented as the traders of these exotic mounts and creatures.

Exports: Wood, Fruit, Copper, Iron, Clay, Poison and toxins, and exotic mounts and animals.

Due to the lifestyle of the Ruā€™Vor there are almost no smiths in the empire and the smelting of the raw materials mined from the world are closely watched and have several fail safes in place to prevent the start and spread of fire. Do to this the empire has to import anything that must be refined, things like swords, metal hooks, picks, shovels, nails, and other metal craft. For similar reasons glass and other materials that require intense heat to make are imported too. As the jungle is too dense and humid to grow grain, corn, rice, as well as cotton it must be imported. Wines and meads are also products that are vastly welcomed in Ruā€™Vor

Imports: Refined metals, Glass, Grain, Corn, Rice, Cotton, Incense, Wine and other alcohols.
