The Kingdom of Tâlreth was once the greatest in all the lands, but it's power is far diminished from its height. Although the royal line is still in power, and still control the five great cities, they have little influence beyond that. Even in the cities, crime syndicates and gangs hold power in the slums and ghettos, and far too much of the cities are slums these days.
The Royal line is anointed by the order of the seal, a religion of magic users (priests and acolytes are mages to some degree) wrapped in ritual and ceremony. The Order is responsible for warding the great cities against the ravages of the countryside, and for destroying the cursed ruin and relics of the past.
To the underground syndicates, however, these strange contraptions are quite valuable...
Perhaps the only reason the Royal line still holds power is because of the order. While many other wizards and warlocks will mock the often cumbersome and overly complex rituals of the order, they have perfected the art of melding the magic of dozens, even hundreds of users together to cast a single spell.
The Five great cities are as follows:
Rinâs, the capital and seat of the current King.
Itrâns, the main bastion of the Order of the Seal, and the site of the great turning.
Uutoron, a city in the foothills devoted to arts and crafts of metal and jewels. Has a high population of dwarfs, and consistently trades with other dwarves in the mountains.
Vlilâ, the city in the forest, conquered from elves long ago and the sight of the majority of farming in Tâlreth.
Srâgo, the Bastion to the north and the site of the great massacre.
Going to be a relatively large human nation that has seen better days. Has a strong grudge against Greywatch for... Reasons...
