At first I didn’t really care for them but I’ve been branching out to diversify and just play different characters and knowing who excels where I do actually come to like the turning characters.
In the beginning I preferred the acceleration characters. Coco and pinstripe I just played interchangeably.
I still prefer acceleration characters. I just love how they feel versus any other but now I’ve decided to change things up when it comes to tracks.
In terms of feel, from most fav to least fav I prefer -acceleration -Turning -Balanced -Speed
But in actual play I tend play speed the 2nd most only behind acceleration and then turning characters 3rd.
I figure to just use the speed characters on less turn heavy tracks(though sometimes I’ll even use them on turn heavy tracks just for shaking things up)
When a track comes up that has plenty of turbo pads I’ll try out a turning character.
It feels nice when you have more handling when you are holding USF with little effort versus when I’m on a speed character I have to finesse it more. It feels smoother if that makes sense.
Doing this really keeps things fresh for me and honestly I really need that. I’d get bored playing the same characters over and over.
Plus I’ve come to find I don’t have a significant difference in my races in terms of performance.
Do other people do the same or do you stick to your guns?
Edit: as a side note, given the above, I actually like baby crash despite how others feel(it seems like many folks dislike him). I just wish there were more characters to have come along for the GP. Only 3 seems underwhelming given the last GP. Not even a character with balanced stats either.
