Why do people hate Crash of the titans?

I get that is different from past games, but to say it killed Crash... I just don't understand.
I remember playing every Crash game as a kid, and when I got to play Crash of the Titans I still loved it.
I hated Mind over mutant, but Crash of the titans looked beautiful albeit different.
