> What do you think of doublelist?
I think I don't like when people try to manipulate me.
1) Why do we have to sign up in order to view listings? (Because they want our information)
2) Why do they fake the dates on listings? (I've seen my own listings with faked dates/boosted to the top of the page, given a current date even though it was weeks old)
3) There are obvious fake/generic listings that I can only assume they've created in order to 'fill' the categories and areas.
I was initially quite excited about doublelist - but then it went like most other platforms out there - all about collecting your information and 'hiding' content behind data capturing policies so they can use it to market to us, or worse, sell to third parties. (Sure, I could use fake information, but it's the principle)

Pretty much. It's likely going to be a case of 1) craigslist opening up the personals again or, 2) one of these other sites picking up momentum. I don't think the law is preventing the sites from existing, but it's probably preventing them from existing in sense that craigslist's personals did (wide open/next to no moderation).
