I really feel that all Cricut creators I follow on YouTube turn out to be very devout Christians who are full on bible study, quotes, etc. Am I off because I craft with a Cricut without being in a bible study group? Also, this could just be an American thing… Greetings from a confused European
Because conservative Christians often don’t think women should have careers. That they should be stay at home moms and do traditional female hobbies which include various types of crafting. It’s a creative outlet (and sometimes an acceptable side hustle) for women who built their whole adult lives around raising children and taking care of the home. Evangelical Christianity is very pervasive in parts of the US, sometimes to the point where you can’t throw a rock without finding something to remind you you’re in the Bible Belt.
Unfortunately for those of us who aren’t religious, it means wading through a sea of Jesus in order to find something on places like Pinterest or other craft related sites.
