Post Body

Anyone ever used DCM for extraction instead of diethyl ether? BPs are nearly the same. I despise DCM for various reasons, but it's lack of flammable vapors would make it a lot safer (still with proper ventilation).

Also it is denser that water so I like using it with sep funnel extractions. (3 extractions, combine, bicarb and brine wash)

I see a lot of literature references using chloroform, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

This is a real chemist question. Please if you don't have experience with this no need for suggestions. No offense.
