What are people's opinions on learning C++ from videos and the r/learnprogramming FAQ about videos not being good?

Post Body

came across this video series which seemed like it could be a decent refresher for me learn some new things LINK

Then I immediately came across a C FAQ in the r/learnprogramming subreddit implying online & video is worse than textbooks? LINK

I appreciate that C is not that simple but this seems really interesting, and kind of out dated, to suggest that a textbook is superior?? Given that a lot of software devs google online everything from bugs to learning new tools on the job, it just seems like a textbook is inpractical (unless the example im describing leads to flawed code, in which case i totally can see that).

Even something else that is low level like Java and Fortran seem to have great online learning material (unless... those are also flawed?)

Is it just the nature of the c language that books are better than online material? i.e. I picked up a lot of python from 0 knowledge starting a new job, just be following a lot of online material. now i am second guessing that it was all flawed!?

I guess another thing I want to clarify is... while online sources certainly may be flawed as claimed, isn't it more practical while on the job?
