I have my pricing figured out for normal sales with a distributor, but have an opportunity to sell at a local independent grocery store who would buy directly from us. My sales manager believes it should be a 10-15% price increase that we would charge the store, but when I pull out the distributors markup and shipping expenses, to keep a consistent shelf price, Im calculating we should be increasing the price by over 50%.
Anyone have any advice on best practice when coming up with direct to retailer pricing?
