These were the starting QBs in the 5-year stretch between Aikman and Romo. Mostly non-playoff years. Then we absolutely lucked out finding an undrafted free agent that was a legit NFL starter before again lucking out when a 4th rounder got forced into action and went 13-3.
I get the frustration with Dak but I think it’s underestimated just how hard it is to find a guy that can even keep you in contention regularly.
Peyton Manning is arguably considered a top 3 qb of all time. Didn’t win a playoff game until his 5th year. 14-13 overall playoff record.
Michael Jordan was in his 6th or 7th year before winning a championship and was considered a playoff choker for the first part of his career.
I’m not comparing Dak to either of these guys. Just saying it’s hard to be a playoff hero all the time. There is a reason Brady and Mahomes are considered once in a generation guys.
I hope the Cowboys find someone better and soon. But when you’re Tarzan swinging in the jungle you don’t let go of one vine until you have a firm grasp on the next one.

Though I generally disagree with moving on from Dak, this is the best argument I’ve seen in favor of moving on from him.
