Help!! Wax spilled on my boots.

Does anyone on here know how to remove some candle wax from leather vamps? [No exotics, thankfully] A candle fell off a shelf and landed near my boots and got wax on 5 of them. I got most of it off & I know I can use hot water with a rag to wipe them clean, but I wanted to ask anyone if they know of a better way to clean the wax off that Iām not aware of.
