Some of you here are hard-core boot buyers. But many people stopping by to ask questions here are curious and maybe just want a pair to try out and see if they like it. That was me, a few years back.
One of the things Tecovas does well is hit you with a low-key, classy look when you open up their page: https://www.tecovas.com/collections/mens-boots - most of those are boots that someone who is giving it a try are not going to feel too self-conscious wearing, nor invest a fortune in.
Compare and contrast with all the wild colors and shapes here: http://www.hondoboots.com/mens/ or even the boots here: https://danpostboots.com/collections/laredo-mens
If I'm interested, but don't want to go overboard, a nice calfskin roper without a lot of stitching looks like something I could wear without sticking out too much compared to, say, the "USA-camo-pattern" boot. Or one with lots of stitching and colors.
I don't own any Tecovas myself, I just got to thinking about their marketing compared to other brands: there are a whole lot more non-boot wearers than people who already wear them.
