This is not here to say the adaptation itself was fantastic. It was ok at best in my opinion. I picked it apart a lot because of how much I love the anime. Something it has done successfully is bring the source material to a new generation of fans. My fiance generally hates anime. She watched the live action with me. She enjoyed the show, even while suffering through all my griping. After finishing the live action, she actually asked me to watch the anime. She LOVED it and that put such a smile on my face. Ive seen alot more cross over art out in public and on the internet as well. I couldn't be happier. I feel as if the adaptation wasn't for us, as much as it was for reaching out to a broader audience on a bigger platform. If it keeps the love for the original story going, it deserves my respect.
