tl;dr is creatine was a negative result experiment vis a vis LC symptoms for me personally (YMMV as usual)
I am 3 weeks into the experiment and the benefits I thought I saw early on I think were merely due to doing extra days off/rest during the holidays.
I am still have all my symptoms (brain fog, shortness of breath, heavy limbs [one you'd think the creatine would help with!], grouchiness, dizziness, fatigue, even my petechiae came back)
It definitely did not help brain fog, which is the one I wanted it to help with.
I will finish out the 4 week experiment but this doesn't appear to be a useful supplement for me. It's ironic too, because I'm vegan (for 6 years) and if it'd help anyone, you'd think it would help me (vegans don't tend to get as much creatine in their diets).
The things that DO consistently help are:
- rest
- not stressing out / not being Type A
- pacing (energy pacing, breaking up tasks, etc.)
- good sleep hygiene / good sleep
- LDN
- most of all... TIME
I do still think I'm VERY VERY VERY slowly healing:
My brain fog is harder to trigger -- e.g. I am having it tonight, but this after hours of playing Factorio (a mentally intense game), vs. LAST winter when I could trigger it with just e.g. 30 minutes of writing up a detailed email or similar.
The extreme shortness of breath I had during cold winter walks aren't occurring like they did.
I seem to bounce back faster from crashes and my crashes aren't as severe.
There are fewer days when I feel like I can't get out of bed.
But this is after almost 18 months of this thing (will be exactly 18 months on Jan. 20, 2025), so you'd hope there'd be some healing.
