So, I posted here a couple of days ago about how in my music appreciation class, my teacher pointed out that female country singers back then had to be better singers to get radio play. It stirred up a bit of controversy because while she did mention that the older country guys were soothing to listen to, she skipped over strong vocalists. For example, she played 'Highwayman,' which arguably features four of the strongest voices in country. Anyway, I've always liked Cline's music, but I've only had 'I Fall to Pieces' and 'Crazy' on my playlist. However, I decided to dig deeper, and man, I'm trying not to be biased because country is my number one genre, but I feel like Patsy Cline's voice is just one of those voices that's hard to replicate. I'm trying to think of vocalists that can compare, and I want to say Freddie Mercury, and Celine Dion can definitely be put into her rank. Then, it's like Sinatra maybe is one rank below. But I'm interested to see what you guys think?
