Haven’t used the couchsurf app in a long time. Years. You have to pay now?
Post Body

Made me sad to see a great resource no longer for free. I am curious how people feel about the app nowadays? I was going to give it a try anyways. Any improvements? What’s better than before?

Also are there free alternatives you know of?

Thank you.

For me couchsurfing is similar now to how is was before the pandemic with a good community and alot of visitors to Sydney - I am getting alot of good personalised requests and hosted multiple people over summer, so for the small fee its the most useful site for me.

I also use beweclome, couchers and trustroots, but between them have hosted one person this summer and the rare requests I get through them are generic cut and paste messages or inappropriate messages that get ignored. Hope that helps!
