So I currently have two cosplays I need to improve/revise.
The first is a genderbent Toyosatomimi no Miko of Touhou Project cosplay, and I would like to enhance/improve it.
One of the ideas I had was to make it into a "DJ Miko" cosplay where I could have certain parts be able to play sound/music. To which I considered using the hyped Axent Wear Cat Ear Headphones, since the costume already calls for headphones and two very large hair spikes that resemble cat ears. I would basically need to hide the speakers with either wig hair or some alternative method, whereas I currently am just spiking the hair with industrial grade hair spray.
My question is: is there a material or method that would allow me to cover the speakers with hair/hair-like material without dampening the sound too much?
The second is genderbent Raiko Horikawa of Touhou Project cosplay (looks like Michael Jackson with red hair). I initially went without the red drums as a prop, but later created a set, only to find that they were really hard to suspend properly. I took a lightweight hoola-hoop and attached painted foam drums with embedded brass tacks on the sides, secured to the hoop via superglue and cable ties. Needless to say the entire construction was extremely unweildy, and the drums stopped laying flat after outside forces caused the glue to rip the foam. Is there a better way to create the drums? It's painfully difficult to carry them around, and looks REALLY REALLY bad.
