I am having some conceptual difficulty understanding what the power spectrum in cosmology physically represent. If the power spectrum peaks around k = 10-2 Mpc-1, does it signify that most of the matter in the Universe is separated at a distance of 1/k? In addition, the unit of the power spectrum is volume (Mpc3). What does this volume represent?
A follow-up to this is also question regarding the CMB power spectrum that is represented angularly. Since the peak is around l ~ 200, does this imply that the temperature variation is highest when we pick two points on the sky at random that differ by an angle of ~ 1 degree?
