So, this is a thought I’ve had for some time now. I figured it due to finding the notion of time slowing as you get faster ridiculous. And then saw that it could be a pairing to or alternative to red shift.
The premise is as follows: Since light travels at a constant speed, any velocity away from or towards its source will change the perceived frequency of it.
Kind of the Doppler effect that speed guns use to determine the speed of another vehicle.
Is this correct? And if so, is this considered in applications like the atomic clock test for time relativity and red shift?
