Albino Cory Questions -- Temperature, Breathing, Flinching, and Flourish

Post Body

Hi!

  • So I'm in Florida and my 10g doesn't have a heater, its temp is 69 F. Is that too cold for Albino Cories? I'm debating whether I should get a heater at this point.

  • When I fed them today, I noticed they darted to the surface for air more often than usual. I know they are supposed to do that sometimes but it seemed a little too often. Is that because of the temperature?

  • Recently (past couple weeks) I've been seeing them flinching here and there. They flinch hard (like go sideways and spasm) and then get right back to what they were doing. Thoughts? I don't know if this is normal or reason for concern.

  • Today I looked at my Flourish bottle (which I have also used in the past) and realized there's a small amount of Copper in it. I know cories aren't supposed to get Copper .... is it okay that it's such a small amount or should I ditch it and find a different plant food?

Thanks in advance for any help c: I will be checking the water parameters tomorrow morning PS: I have a cyanobacteria problem rn and will be using Slime Out soon (I have an aquarium store near me who can help me get cycled again if it affects it)
