Hey so I made the underbust mock-up corset and the only thing that's missing are the bones and front clasp and back grommets. I am very very curvy (very overweight) so I thought I would need metall, that is for sure. I went to a store where they had plastic zip ties and I am convinced they are too flimsy for my project.
I went online to see what the recommended corset supply store has and turns out they have flat steel boning (the white one) and spiral steel boning (silver ringed one)
I read the description of the pattern and know I have to add the flat steel to front busk and back grommets...but what about the other bonings? I add a picture where I colored the boning channels and hope someone can help me with that problem? Red line : flat steel! Green line: also flat steel or spiral bones? Blue lines: spiral steel bones right? Purple lines : definitely spiral steel bones?!
The second question is..I had to elongate the corset to about 37 cm so far (mock-up) Should I wait with ordering the busk front or not ...where do I get a front busk that is 37cm or a bit less ? The sizes on that website were only up to 32 cm :/
