Handling & feeding burrower?

Post Body
Rcently acquired first snake, 2-yr subadult from breeder (hasn't bred yet). Spent first 2 years in a tub, now moved into a 48x18x18 enclosure. He sure loves to burrow! Very used to handling, but I feel bad digging him up to handle him. Had to for his first feeding with me, but he took it like a champ and pooped just fine 4 days later. Will burrowers come up for food when they're ready? My tank runs 72-75 on cold side, 81-85 warm & 85-90 basking. Photos added!
