This of course is highly useful, provided you haven't yet grasped the notion that days are longer in summer and shorter in winter, or that clouds exist. In case it has escaped your notice, the sun is not visible for roughly half the duration of the day, also known as the night. During this time, the sun is not able to cast light on your little stick, making it pointless to mark out those hours on the ground. However, we live in an Enlightened and Intelligent age, one that started with the invention of the mechanical timepiece by the esteemed mechanical engineer Archimedes. No, not the bird, the engineer. It has been continuously possible since that moment to continue monitoring the passage of time even during the night hours, making the entire reason for 12 hour time moot. 12 hour time is objectively inferior in every single way, requiring additional context for anyone to understand what the fuck you are even saying, although as a halfwitted simpleton people probably struggle to understand you anyway
