Okay but like something's been really bugging me and I need to get it off my chest. The Thomas and Friends series of books from 2006 is so inconsistent with their portrayal of what the trains can and cannot do. Like in Edward, James is all like 'urgh Edward is so slow and dumb and I bet I could beat him in a race' and Thomas is all like 'yeah nah' and James is like 'nah yeah' and then some dumb kids break into James and stand on his footplate and he goes all nroom down the rails and can't stop because he doesn't have a driver and Edward has to catch up to him and then the Inspector ties a rope around James and Edward goes all anti-nroom and his anti-nroom is stronger than James' nroom and they stop, right? But then in Molly, Molly's all like 'I am not very special because I only pull empty coal trucks and I'm so depressed' and Thomas is all 'oh no Molly doesn't feel special' so he ties some lanterns to Molly's trucks and then he's all like 'hey Gordon you big dumb, Molly's trucks are more special than your crap express' and then Gordon's all like 'oh yeah?' and then Thomas is all like 'oh yeah' and then the wind blows and Molly's lanterns go out and she's all like 'oh no I'm not special at all' and she drives off without her driver and runs out of coal on a mainline and gets stuck and then Thomas has to pull her out. But the problem with this is that in Edward, the trains apparently have no free will and can't move without their driver, but in Molly, Molly's clearly capable of moving by herself. And don't tell me 'oh but Molly isn't part of the original series, it's an expansion and so is non-canon' because the same thing happens in Duncan because the writers of this crap series can't come up with new storylines and that's part of the original 20 books. Like honestly Thomas and Friends is such a crap series, I can't understand why anyone would buy these inconsistent books.
