Hi everyone,
So, tonight I was supposed to have a slow cooker ham and potato soup ready by the time 6 o'clock rolled around. The recipe had both low and high cooking times, 8 hours on low and 4-5 on high. I was supposed to slow cook the veggies, chicken broth, s/p, and ham for the majority of the cooking time and finish it off with cream, flour, and sour cream -- letting it go for another 15 minutes after that.
Needless to say, I forgot for the first part of the day, starting it at noon. Now, opting for the shorter cooking time, I did what I thought I was supposed to, but I was also unfortunately rushing to get it going at that point and I added EVERYHTING into the cooker, almost as you would a chili or something simpler.
Did I completely foul up this recipe by cooking the milk products and flour along with the rest of the soup for the combined cooking time? I figure I'd ask here before facing the reality myself in case that someone out there has experience with this sort of thing.
Thank you.
