Post Body

I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year and I thought it would take a long time to thaw a turkey. Then I heard the “1 day for every 4 pounds rule” and that thawed turkeys should not stay in the fridge past 4 days of being thawed. I bought my 16 pound turkey and placed it in the refrigerator last Saturday night, so it would have finished thawing Wednesday night. The 4 days after thawing rule says it should have been out of the refrigerator yesterday. What should I do? I’ve placed it in the freezer for an hour to help keep it cooler, but I don’t want to risk it being dry or freezer burned.
