You guys, I’ve gone through hell & high water the past 3 days trying to make Icecream.

I started off using Oreos , almond milk , Morton’s Icecream salt, & ziplock bags.

I made this years ago during science class in middle school, but I never recalled it ever being this difficult.

So, I put the almond milk & Oreos in a ziplock bag & then put ice & Icecream salt in another bag. I stuck the Oreos bag inside of the zip lock bag that had the ice & salt & I shook it up. It was still liquid after about 4 minutes of shaking. I got discouraged once I saw the Oreos start to get mushy in the milk & it became Oreo milk at that point , so I stopped.

My parents told me that maybe I need to add cream since it’ll be fattening & should freeze better.

So I got some soy milk heavy whipping cream & almond milk coffee creamer & tried again today.

Still, it was liquid.

What am I doing wrong?

I thought that maybe I have to use dairy milk in order for it to work , but I can’t because I can’t have a lot of dairy. But I read online that you can make dairy free Icecream homemade with no issues , so idk what’s going on.

Someone please help. I’m kinda determined to make it even more now because money is really tight at home & I feel bad about wasting money on these items when my parents could’ve bought other groceries with it. I live in CA , so grocery items are really expensive right now.
