I'm looking to set up a container "permanently", but I don't want to pour concrete or fasten to it for residential code purposes. My soil is stable and can bear a lot of weight, so i'm thinking of using 12x12 deck blocks, but I cannot source any with the flat top - the only ones available to me are the ones that have the grooves like this. I'm worried these groove aren't meant to be structural and will break on me, but I only want the container up a few inches (I was planning on partially burying the blocks to achieve this) so I don't want to put beams between the blocks. I want it to look at least somewhat aesthetic as I dont plan on moving it and will eventually put a roof on it, cut in some windows and doors, and insulate as a little workshop. Don't intend on living in it so I don't think the weight is going to get too crazy so I was thinking of using 8 blocks total. Is my only option to pour if I can't find the flat top piers?
