Hi everyone, Background- i have a background in Supply Chain Management and Currently i am working for a boutique consulting firm. I have around 2.5-3years of experience. Since the graduation, i am in the same company and i feel i have grown exponentially throughout the last few years. But all my projects were mainly niche focused projects on logistics. I have few questions, please free to answer any one of them.
I am quite comfortable in what i am doing. But i always feel that i can do more. I have mentioned this at my job. But they are happy with what i am doing. My point is, I havent utilised 100%, i do not even know what my max capacity is, i know, it sounds weird but when i heard burn out stories about other experienced consultants, i feel like i can also do more. But not getting a chance to do so. ATM I am enjoying the work life balance but i am in my 20s so i feel like i should go all in my career so that i can reach to next level in-terms of responsibilities and salary. What advice would you give it to me ?
Secondly i have mentor with whom i discuss all this but their point is, i have a decent job with good salary ( compared to other with the same experience ). My mentor suggested me that try to get involve in more complex projects so that i can learn more and it will be challenging for me. Like I mentioned, i am into very niche projects so even if those projects are not challenging enough. Currently i am also learning new stuff in my field, enrolled in online masters program etc. but again, even if learn something new, and if i am not using that in my day to day job then i am tend to forget it. So I thought of doing some personal projects in management consulting or supply chain field. But not sure what can i do or with what can i start with. Please guide me if you have any suggestions or recommendations.
Thirdly, in future, I see myself in consulting itself or want to build something in supply chain domain. I really need a guidance from someone who is working in management consulting or product development in supply chain domain. Or anyone who has his own business? With you guidance i can use my energy in the right direction.
Note- i am not a supporter of a hustling culture. I believe it should be a choice of individual and at this point of time in my career, i feel like utilising my energy. So please donβt get me wrong.
And lastly, Thank you so much for your time.
