My mom in the past couple years has slowly become a right wing obsessed conspiracy person.

She used to be moderate to left-wing and was never a "die hard" for any one politician or anything. She was always a smart and intelligent person. Then she was let go and has dealt with unemployment for quite awhile. She spent her time listening to extremist radio and conspirators. She believes in the following:

chem-trails, Obama is Kenyan and Muslim, GMO's = cancer and death, NSA coffins, anything Glenn Beck and Limbaugh tell her to believe, Obamacare is there to kill us all, and most disturbingly eugenics and the Illuminati trying to kill off the world populace.

While I can understand some conspiracies like 9/11 and the JFK assassination (although the 9/11 one is a bit nutty to me) simply because it is either recent like 9/11 or a well documented event like JFKs.

Its really depressing to watch her go down this hill. I keep telling her that in 20 years nothing will have changed. America will still be America and the world will still be a crazy chaotic place. Its tough watching someone slide into madness so willingly out of fear and desperation. I don't wish it upon anyone. I literally fear her being around my future kids. I love her, shes my mother, but she has become the obsessive conspiracy person and its hell.

edit: she is also an anti-vaxxer despite my being vaccinated as a kid and this anti-medical crap having becoming popular in the last few years.
