Do we control the media or does the media control us?
Post Body

I find myself upset with people who are obsessed with dads, celebrities and others that wouldn't matter or exist if it wasn't for fans or people choosing to give them that limelight and platform. They would cease to exist if people decided to become fans of things that "matter". Sustainability, recycling, global warming, works hunger etc. Movies, music, are just big machines that work by turning out what the consumers want, we are their box office numbers, their streams. The news, the news has formed on chasing ratings, controversial topics get ratings.. then today's news looks like it does. I guess it a chicken and egg question too- which came first? Our demand/ impact on media or their intentional impact on us? And if one came first... Has that changed since?
