So..
Current CEO of Verizon is Lowell McAdam - I don't know much about him. He seems a replacement, a functionary for somebody pulling real weight.
The actors I do know about are:
- David Cohen - is he related to Larry Cohen) of the CWA - I'm a very pro-union person, bought even I distrust top leadership regardless of the organization
- Could Comcast execs be included? Cohen has been involved in both Comcast and Verizon and talks of a merger are on the table
Let's tie together the chain of events, execs, politicians, political appointments, federal judges, and other players that all have stake in the poor decision that was made today.
- Execs at Verizon
- Execs at ATT
- Execs at Comcast
- Members of the Congressional Internet Caucus
- Facebook, Alphabet, Twitter?
- ICANN? W3C?
There's also probably involvement from Facebook, Google/Alphabet, Twitter and other big players who have more to gain from hedging competition than from the status quo.
Ajit Pai is too ridiculous to be acting of his own accord. He has marching orders from people with truly dark motives, or at least insatiable greed. Who is the Palpatine here?
