Okay, so let me explain from scratch. It can be quite long if you read it and check the links.
My girlfriend and I were watching an absolute piece of art in the documentary area on Netflix named "Top Secret UFO Projects: Declassified." While we were laughing at it and just let it turn in the background, I always was interested about all of the people who's been named drops, interviewed and so on, because who does some research on someone who appears few minutes on the screen in those kind of documentary ?
I've started to use ChatGPT few days ago, and i've been really impressed by his capacity to find an answer, to do some really good synthesis watherver the topic you can ask.
So, in the first episode, at the minute: 13:14 a name is drop. It's, the Major-General John Alexander Samford.
Here's our guy John Alexander Samford in the Netflix's documentary
I had the last few days to ask more or less everything to ChatGPT firstly for the fun and secondly to see what it knows, the pattern it uses to express itself, etc... So, my intrusive thought told me to make a search of him, not on Google, but on ChatGPT. So this is the very first "conversation" I had with it about this guy.
![img](dg0dvfklzkga1 " I invite you to keep in mind the date when he died on 22nd December 1990. Thats our point here. ")
So, here we start when everything went odd. And agree, its still in development.
It's at this moment I started to check on Google more about this guy and what the web says about him. I realize that the date ChatGPT gave me wasn't the same as Wikipedia does. And in Wikipedia, he never was Director of the CIA.
Wikipedia link : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_A._Samford
So as you can see, date aren't good, it doesn't match but yeah ok, mistake can happens. So this the rest of it. So I say to him that his fellow Wiki isn't agree with him.
After this point in the conversation, i've a bit the subject about...UFOs and about a Galactic Alliance. (Remember that I was still watching the other masterpiece? And I was high let's be honest.) So this some example of conversation we had when I decided to switch from our General.
![img](cz0u07g60lga1 " At least it gave me something lmao ")
![img](d72rrf090lga1 " After few questions, I decided to ask him again about our boy. ")
This is the beginning of the second conversation I started with GPT, with the same question, to know what is all about, according to him, about our General.
My Gf and I really wonder where it could find those information because it still says that he worked for the CIA but it's the only one. You can't find anywhere else this data. So I asked if it could provide me a link.
(As you can see, the link is dead and it's a good old 404 Error.)
Btw if you're still there, this is the link to the US Air Force about him. You will see that we don't have a lot of news about him after his service or even his death. And still nothing about the CIA. As you can also see, now he's dead in 1972, and not anymore in '68 or even in '90.

So, again, I really wanted to know finally, what ChatGPT could say about this guy after all of those intrusive question. Again, same excercice.
I wanted to know if it could again, provide me a link for it. And the fact that it doesn't want anymore to share one, triggered me.
![img](6hxbytab7lga1 " Again, no result, no link. ")
And this is pretty much the end of our adventure with the Major-General John A. Samford.
My questions are : Where ChatGPT go to find those data. This guy has a Wikipedia, why is that difficult for GPT to catch this one and to stick with it and how can switch multiple time the answers about the same question. Can it recognize, or not, data who are classified ? Where the IA can search and do you think that it could go on some point where it's not public ?
Don't hesitate to share what's your ChatGPT answer to you !
